A journey into healthy manhood
Our teenage boys are in crisis. In the UK, they are more likely to be excluded from school, medicated for their behaviour, suffer from addiction, mental health problems that often lead to suicide, homelessness, and involvement in crime. So what can we do to redirect the path?

About the event
Our teenage boys are in crisis. In the UK, they are more likely to be excluded from school, medicated for their behaviour, suffer from addiction, mental health problems that often lead to suicide, homelessness, and involvement in crime. So what can we do to redirect the path?
Calm Curator is honoured to partner with Journeyman UK, a national charity dedicated to supporting teenage boys aged 13 to 17, as they navigate the transition from adolescence to adulthood. Together, we invite you to delve into what it takes to support the teenage boys of our future, and what it means to step into healthy manhood.
We will begin our day, hearing from Sorin Schiller (also known as SciSavage), whose story is a reminder that your circumstances don’t define you. Despite being abandoned by parents and vilified by society, he was pushed to a life of violence and crime as a young boy, which led to an attempt at taking his own life. But today Sorin channels his fighting spirit towards a fight for peace and inspiration for the troubled boy that he once was.
We will then welcome Journeyman UK, who will host an important and introspective workshop to help us reflect on our own experience and how this can be applied to create a consistent and supportive community for our teenage boys.
Inspired by the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child,” we believe that supporting teenage boys in the transition to adulthood requires the collective effort of an entire community, so our event will be open to all.
Coffees and food will be served throughout. This is a donations-based event, where all proceeds will be donated to support the work of Journeyman UK.
